Hranush Hakobyan meets with Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Church of Australia and New Zealand, Bishop Haigazoun Najarian and members of the diocesan council
On March 23, RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan visited the Holy Resurrection Church of Sydney where she met with Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Church of Australia and New Zealand, Bishop Haigazoun Najarian and members of the diocesan council.
Greeting the minister, His Holiness praised the activities that the RA Ministry of Diaspora has carried out for the strengthening of Armenia-Diaspora relations.
The gathered expressed their satisfaction with the effective implementation of the ministry’s program for support to the solutions to cultural and educational issues concerning the Australian-Armenian community and praised the ministry’s efforts aimed at preserving the Armenian identity, particularly the “Ari Tun” Program.
During the meeting, the minister answered several questions related to the Armenia-Diaspora partnership, the Australian-Armenian community’s participation in the programs carried out by the RA Ministry of Diaspora, the events dedicated to the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide, as well as the current state of Armenia’s economy.
Afterwards, the minister had a meeting with several Australian-Armenian businessmen and presented the opportunities for expansion of business relations in Armenia and economic cooperation, as well as the advantages of making investments and spending their vacation in Armenia. The minister also talked about the perspectives of the development of tourism and encouraged them to make investments in the tourism sector.
After the meeting, the minister visited RYDE-EASTWOOD LEAGUES CLUB where she participated in the event organized by Hamazkayin’s Nairi Association and the AGBU Ararat Association.
Singers Zaruhi Babayan and Hamlet Gevorgyan performed several songs during the event.
