Event dedicated to Army Day held in St. Petersburg

On January 28, the RA Consulate General in St. Petersburg and the local Armenian community organized a solemn event dedicated to the 23rd anniversary of the formation of the Armenian Army, as the RA MFA press service reports.
Among the participants were head of the group of Armenia’s students at military academies in St. Petersburg Marklen Sakanyan, representatives of the local Armenian community, clergymen, nearly 80 officers and students from the Republic of Armenia, as well as freedom fighters and officers of the Russian army.
RA Consul General in St. Petersburg Hrair Karapetyan greeted and congratulated the gathered, and 12 officers and students of the RA Armed Forces were granted the medals and badges of the RA Minister of Defense on the occasion of Army Day.
The solemn event was preceded by liturgies at the St. Katarine Church of St. Petersburg.
