Two Armenians soldiers killed and more injured after opponent’s diversion attempt in Tavush

With its ongoing actions destabilizing the situation on the border, the opponent continues with its strategy on attacks and diversions in different sectors of the border between the Republic of Armenia and the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic. This is what press speaker of the RA Ministry of Defense Artsrun Hovhannisyan wrote on his Facebook page, as Tert.am reports.

Not coming to grips with their great losses that they simply conceal, Azerbaijan’s Armed Forces continue with nonsensical diversions, committing over 300 violations over one night.

This morning at around 9:00 the special significance subdivisions of the Azerbaijani army also attacked several military positions in the Berd region of Tavush Province.

The Armenian army’s corresponding subdivisions noticed the subdivisions, after which a clash began and lasted nearly half an hour. The opponent suffered losses, failed to meet its objective and was thrown back, but unfortunately, the Armenian side has two victims and more injured parties. Lieutenant Karen Galstyan and soldier Artak Sargsyan were killed.

The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia shares the pain over the loss of the soldiers and expresses its support to their families and relatives. Azerbaijan’s military and political leaders are completely responsible for the tension, and the consequences will remain as part of their conscience.

Let us remind that the Armenian Armed Forces have carried out round-the-clock preventive actions in the direction of the Azerbaijani forces. Based on information, Azerbaijan has three victims, while the Armenian side doesn’t have any victims or injured parties.

Let us also remind that earlier, press speaker of the RA Ministry of Defense Artsrun Hovhannisyan disseminated information according to which the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan had fully suspended the release of any negative information regarding its own Armed Forces, including information about the number of victims recorded during border clashes.
