Old Aleppo is under fire again

On the morning of December 9, terrorist groups bombed the jewelry market located at Farhat Square in Aleppo, reports the Facebook page of Perio News.

The missile made from a barrel was dropped and exploded on the building. An Armenian’s apartment was located on the last floor, and the other floors were occupied by the Armenian jewelers’ association. Fortunately, there was only material damage.

The bombing damaged the Armenian Catholic Prelacy, the churches near the square, as well as houses and stores. Several Armenians have moved to safer areas.

The Old Aleppo district is always a center for clashes and bombings. Therefore, the Armenian Prelacy, the Holy Forty Children’s Church and the adjacent districts can automatically become a target for missiles.

Earlier, on December 7, a powerful explosion shocked Aleppo. The bombing was near the Sultanieh Mosque located near the historic fortress in Aleppo and caused damages. The explosion was like an earthquake and shocked the entire city.

The four-year Syrian war has taken the lives of more than 200,000 people, including more than 100 Armenians.
