In light of the annual all-Armenian Telethon, the factions of the NKR National Assembly have issued a statement in which the following is particularly mentioned:

“The Hayastan All-Armenian Fund will hold its annual Telethon on November 27, 2014. The Telethon will be devoted to the final stage of construction of the Vardenis-Martakert strategic road. Large-scale efforts have been made to build the second modern road linking Artsakh to Armenia, and the objective is to end asphalting of the highway in 2015.

It is needless to say how significant the Vardenis-Martakert road is for security and for the socio-economic development of the northern regions of Artsakh.

The project is of both political and psychological significance. By carrying out this project, the Armenian people are reaffirming their just position on Artsakh and taking charge for the reinforcement of the liberated homeland.

NKR President Bako Sahakyan’s delegation is currently in the USA to participate in the Telethon, symbolizing the Artsakh-Armenia-Diaspora unity.

Dear compatriots, the liberation movement that was launched in 1988 lies at the core of that unity. It is not only honorable, but a big responsibility. We have to participate in the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund’s Telethon with the sense of responsibility.

We have no doubt and fully hope all Armenians will make their donations on November 27^th and will show the world once again that we are a nation that makes decisions on its own and is consistent with implementing those decisions, a nation that accepts the challenges of the 21^st century with dignity and overcomes them through unity. Evidence of this must be the construction of the Vardenis-Martakert road in the mentioned timeframes.”
