Turkish Member of Parliament Ugur Bairaktutan from the “People’s Republic” Party, which is Turkey’s main opposition party, touched upon the November 12 downing by Azerbaijani armed forces of the Armenian MI-24 helicopter on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border during a press conference held in the Turkish Parliament, reports the Turkish Haberaktuel news portal.

According to Ermenihaber.am, the Turkish MP mentioned that the helicopter was shot down because it crossed the border. “I would like to state that the “People’s Republic” Party supports Azerbaijan’s fair cause in relation to that issue.”

Bairaktutan also accused Armenia of guiding the Armenian Diaspora for territorial claims, reparations and recognition of the Armenian Genocide and said none of those is acceptable from the angle of Turkey’s foreign policy.
