Turkey to allow Kurds to help seized Kobane under initiative of U.S.

U.S. President Barack Obama has had a telephone conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyib Erdogan. As a result, Ankara will open a corridor for military assistance through which Kurdish forces will have the opportunity to make it to Syria and join their compatriots in the struggle against the “Islamic State” terrorist group that has seized Kobane, reports Ermenihaber.am.

Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlut Cavusoglu has declared that Turkey will help the Kurds move to Kobane.

“We have never wanted and don’t want Kobane to fall. To prevent that, Turkey hasn’t spared any effort,” the Minister of Foreign Affairs said, according to Jumhurriyet, reminding that Turkey has provided shelter to more than 200,000 people having emigrated from Kobane.

The Rudaw website, which supports the authorities of the Iraqi Kurdistan, has disseminated information, according to which Barzani has addressed Ankara to allow Kurdish forces to move over to the Turkish-Syrian border and provide assistance to Kobane’s self-defense forces. According to the source, the Turkish authorities have given their consent.
