Exhibition dedicated to 115th birthday of Patvakan Grigoryants opened in Saint Petersburg

On October 9, an exhibition showcasing the works of Leningrad’s prominent Armenian drawer Patvakan Grigoryants (1899-1986) opened at the exhibition hall of the Moscow District in Saint Petersburg, reports “News Service of Armenians of Petersburg” to “Hayern Aysor”.
In the beginning of the event, member of the board of the Union of Artists of Saint Petersburg, painter Ashot Khachatryan expressed his views on the works that were exhibited.
Patvakan’s daughter, painter Irina Ignateyeva and friend, lecturer Grigori Aghajanyan shared their memories of the master. Head of the Department of National Literature at the Russian National Library Shushan Zhabko praised the exhibition and mentioned the important role and significance of cultural events and enlightenment in society.
Art critic Galina Timofeyeva delivered her speech on the life and career of Patvakan Grigoryants.
In the end, President of the “Armenians of Petersburg” regional non-governmental organization Alexander Nazarov expressed gratitude to the managers of the exhibition hall for their cooperation.
The exhibition was organized by the “Armenians of Petersburg” regional non-governmental organization and will run until October 24, 2014.
