Seventh International Conference of the Armenian International Women’s Association set to kick off

The Seventh International Conference of the Armenian International Women’s Association is set to kick off at Elite Plaza Business Center (15 Khorenatsi St.) at 10:00 on 10 October. The conference is organized in association with the RA Ministry of Diaspora and the American University of Armenia.
RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan, President of the Armenian International Women’s Association in Armenia Hranush Hakobyan will deliver her opening remarks.
RA President Serzh Sargsyan will give his welcoming address, after which His Holiness Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians will give his blessing.
Among the speakers will be U.S. Ambassador to Armenia John Heffern, AIWA Vice-President Carolyn Atinizian and representative of the AIWA Conference Planning Committee Silva Katchiguian.
The conference will continue with panel sessions on “The Roles of Women During and After the Armenian Genocide”, “The Role of Armenian Women in a Globalized World”, “Meeting Challenges in Women’s Health for Women in Armenia”, “NGOs in Action in Armenia” and “Women in Literature”.
At 12:00-13:15, an exhibition-sale of products of Syrian-Armenians will kick off in the frames of the conference and will continue at Manoogian Hall Foyer of the American University of Armenia on 11 October.
At 14:30, the participants of the conference will visit the Tsitsernakaberd Armenian Genocide Memorial and will lay a wreath in front of the monument to the innocent victims, after which Director of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute Hayk Demoyan will give a speech on “New Perspectives on Women and the Armenian Genocide”.
The conference will continue at Manoogian Hall of the American University of Armenia starting from 09:30 on 11 October.
At 10:15, the opening of the Student Lounge will be held at the American University of Armenia.
The participants of the conference will also participate in the events dedicated to Erebuni-Yerevan Day and other cultural events.
On 12 October, the participants of the conference will visit the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin where they will have a meeting with His Holiness Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians.
