Armenian architecture should become a “business card” for Armenia

On October 6, RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan participated in the contest-exhibition dedicated to Architects’ Day at the National Museum-Institute of Architecture of the Republic of Armenia.

In his opening remarks, Minister of Urban Development Narek Sargsyan attached importance to the Pan-Armenian Forum of Architects (“Armenian Architecture and the 21st Century”), which was organized by the Ministry of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia in April 2009 and led to the creation of the Pan-Armenian Association of Architects.

Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan congratulated the architects on Architects’ Day and mentioned the following: “By creating the Pan-Armenian Association of Architects, the Ministry of Diaspora tried to bring all Armenian architects together. I can declare that the Pan-Armenian Association of Architects is a success, and evidence of that is this exhibition. Armenian architecture should become a “business card” for Armenia. Tourists have to come to Armenia and see the valuable and everlasting works of Armenian architects and their ideas which portray a mix of the old and new traditions of Armenian architecture.”

The minister wished the Armenian architects leap of thought to create more everlasting works and voiced hope that their collaboration with the Ministry of Diaspora would be more fruitful.
