Vahram Pirjanian: “Only through direct communication will it be possible to achieve the desired outcomes”
On 19-20 September, nearly 700 leaders and members of pan-Armenian organizations, journalists, educators, cultural figures, businesspeople and representatives of the clergy from over 60 countries will discuss issues of pan-national significance during the 5th Armenia-Diaspora Conference to be hosted by the RA Ministry of Diaspora in Yerevan.
Among the participants will be President of the Armenian Trade Network (ATN) and the Armenian-Canadian Chamber of Commerce Vahram Pirjanian, who has participated in the previous four Armenia-Diaspora Conferences. The Canadian-Armenian businessman has a clear understanding and expects to see that at such forums and conferences.
“For us businesspeople, participation in the Armenia-Diaspora Conference is first and foremost important in terms of cooperation. As I was reading the program for the conference, I found out that the major issue is the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide, but alongside that the agenda also includes other issues of pan-Armenian significance such as the issue of the Syrian-Armenians, cooperation between Armenia and Diaspora Armenian communities, as well as investments and other issues.
Actually, the main reason why I’m participating in the Armenia-Diaspora Conference is because I want to be able to become more familiarized with the activities of countries and community organizations for which the Armenian Trade Network carries out its activities. Some of those countries are the countries across Europe and the Americas, and I’m certain that the representatives of those countries will be attending the conference. During the previous four conferences, I have noticed that the majority of the participants are businesspeople or people who play a major role in their respective countries and communities.
Face-to-face communication is one thing, communication via the telephone and correspondence is another thing. During direct communication, I can easily talk and explain the idea, goal and mission of the Armenian Trade Network in just ten minutes. Even if my interlocutors aren’t the correspondents, they can present the Network’s activities the right way in their communities and talk to the correspondents so that the latter take part in the Network’s programs as well. This is the main purpose for participating in the Armenia-Diaspora Conference.”
P.S.: “Hayern Aysor” will soon present the interview with Vahram Pirjanian.
