Canadian parliamentarians visited the RA Ministry of Diaspora

On August 25, RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan received Canadian parliamentarians.

Greeting the guests, the minister particularly mentioned: “It is my pleasure to welcome you at the Ministry of Diaspora and in Armenia. This is your first visit to Armenia, and I’m certain that you will be having interesting meetings. I’m pleased with the fact that there are more and more meetings between Armenians and Canadians. The strengthening of political, economic and cultural ties is important for the Canadian-Armenian community. I express deep gratitude to the Canadian government for providing the opportunity to preserve Armenian language, identity and traditions. I would especially like to express gratitude to the Parliament of Canada for having recognized the Armenian Genocide in both chambers. We must fight to make sure genocide is not repeated in any part of the world ever again. If a correct evaluation is given, I don’t think it will be repeated. Canada’s democracy and the protection of human rights serve as the best example for Armenia.”

The guests expressed gratitude for the cordial reception and the high appreciation.

The sides discussed issues on the trends for and perspectives of the development of Armenian-Canadian relations.
