His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians has sent a letter of condolence to spiritual leader of all Yezidi, His Holiness Mire-Mira Tahsim Beg, who received the letter from Prelate of the Armenian Diocese of Iraq, Archbishop Avag Asadourian. “From the spiritual center of all Armenians, the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin we send our condolences on the occasion of the massacres being perpetrated against the Yezidis in Iraq. We are deeply concerned about the inhumane assaults in northern Iraq and the several victims”, as stated in the letter of the Supreme Patriarch.

Strictly condemning the assaults and massacres against the Yezidis, the Catholicos of All Armenians has expressed confidence that the Yezidis, which have a history spanning centuries, will remain strong and will overcome this difficulty. His Holiness has also called on the international community and organizations to take immediate measures to put an end to the massacres against the Yezidis in Iraq.

The Catholicos of All Armenians has also wished to see peace reestablished in Iraq and to see the pious people of Iraq continue to live in peace in their homes.
