Resolution on the 100th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide adopted by Pan-Armenian Educational Conference

Based on the results of the 6th Pan-Armenian Educational Conference, resolution was adopted, which should become a steering guide for the RA Ministry of Education and Science through the upcoming two-year period. According to Resolution, ahead of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide and with the view of acting through a joint perception in the sector of education and strengthening Armenia-Diaspora educational relations, on the basis of recommendations made in course of 17 plenary sessions and joint discussions organized in 4 subgroups, it has been decided to:

1. In relation to activities dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenia Genocide, attach importance to acquisition, by the growing generation, of true historical knowledge on the Armenian Genocide and the Armenian National Committee in all education levels in Diaspora, the Republic of Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, and the standpoint of always being a demander, while setting guideline of recognition, condemnation and compensation as a priority.
2. Address the issues of the Armenian Genocide in Armeniology classes, attaching importance to formation of an understanding of the reasons, background, course and consequences of the genocide; exclusion of its negative impacts; condemnation and compensation:  view the historical reality of the Armenian Genocide and its legal aspect in the context of the genocides that occurred and have been recognized throughout the world.
3. Create various educational materials on the Armenian Genocide, taking into consideration psychological particularities of target groups.
4. Promote publishing and dissemination of fiction, documentary and cognitive literature on the Armenian Genocide and related topics in Armenian and foreign languages.
5.Еnvisage educational materials on the Armenian Genocide for teachers and students of universities granting degree in pedagogy; familiarize with appropriate international treaties, conventions and their legal content.
6. Promote the examination of psychological injuries suffered by the successors of the victims of the Armenian Genocide and the activities aiming at their exclusion.
7. Dedicate the educational-cultural events to be held in 2015 to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
8. Prepare and provide to teachers various materials on the Armenia heroic battles, particularly, the episodes and heroes of Artsakh Liberation War.
