RA Ministry of Diaspora presents new e-library

The RA Ministry of Diaspora presented its new e-library today.

The website’s operator-service provider Mikayel Yalanuzyan presented the new e-library, compared it with the previous one and listed the advantages. Yalanuzyan mentioned that changes had been made to the website. As a result, the e-library now has separate domain at http://libmindiaspora.am/, is faster and more accessible, and users can post information on the website more quickly and more effectively. The materials of the previous website have been moved to the new one. The content and structure have been upgraded, and the titles have changed. Every month, 3,500-4,000 pages of materials are photocopied, digitized and posted on the website.

Minister Hranush Hakobyan made her comments and attached importance to the inclusion of more works by Western Armenian and Diaspora Armenian writers. Mrs. Hakobyan assigned to enrich the website with children’s literature, textbooks, modern instructional materials, games and videos and work closely with libraries and publishing houses in Armenia and the Diaspora, as well as post links to their websites.

The issue of creating a section for scientific articles devoted to the key issues of national concern through the combined efforts of the relevant departments and the website’s administrators was also discussed. The minister assigned to monitor all the websites of the ministry, hold sessions with the working group every week and increase the ministry’s information resources.

The changes made to the Virtual Museum of the History of the Armenian Diaspora (http://armdiasporamuseum.com) were also presented.
