On May 31, RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan received Chairman of the Social-Democrat (Hunchakian) Party (SDHK) Hagop Dikranian.

Expressing satisfaction with the joint efforts, the sides reached an agreement on further deepening and strengthening of the cooperation and attached importance to the exchange of information, particularly the issue on providing Armenians in the homeland with information about the SDHK’s activities in the Diaspora.

The sides discussed how the ministry could help organize the camping events of the party’s youth organizations. The sides plan to organize the youth camps at the “Ari Tun” Camp, providing Diaspora Armenian youth with the opportunity to become familiar with historical and cultural sites in Armenia and participate in lectures.

Minister Hranush Hakobyan presented the programs of the RA Ministry of Diaspora in 2014 and called for more active participation in the youth programs, which are mainly aimed at teaching Armenian language and culture and preserving the Armenian identity by helping the youth get to know the homeland.

The sides also talked about the commemorative events dedicated to the memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide ahead of the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide.

Hagop Dikranian participated in the 4^th session of the State Commission in charge of Coordinating the Events Dedicated to the 100^th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide held in Yerevan on May 27.
