On 11 May, UCLA lecturer, famous Armenologist, Doctor, Professor Richard Hovhannisian was hosted at the hall of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Almelo at the invitation of AGBU Netherlands Chapter.

RA Ambassador to the Netherlands Dzyunik Aghajanyan, as well as leaders and members of different Armenian organizations attended the meeting.

The event began with opening remarks by AGBU Vice-President Harout Palanjian, who greeted Hovhannisian and thanked him for accepting the invitation.

Since May 11th is Mothers’ Day in the Netherlands, Harout Palandjian donated a bouquet to the Professor’s wife, Varditer Hovhannisian.

RA Ambassador Dzyunik Aghajanyan delivered a speech at the event.

Hovhannisian presented in detail the consequences of the Armenian Genocide, the status of incognito Armenians living in modern-day Turkey through photos and videos and reflected on the life and problems of Hamshen-Armenians.

The meeting was cordial and interesting.
