Yesterday morning, Catholicos Aram I received a letter from UN Under-Secretary-General for Migration Affairs Valerie Amos in which the latter expressed gratitude for her meeting with the Supreme Patriarch, the Supreme Patriarch’s indications and assured that she is closely following up on the issue of the migrants of Kessab and is continuing the necessary assistance in that direction.

Let us inform that the issue of Kessab is still a matter of concern and the main subject for His Holiness and the National Central Department with its political, humanitarian and national aspects.

This morning, Primate of the Berio Diocese, His Eminence, Father, Archbishop Shahan Sarkisian and two Holy Fathers headed toward Latakia to meet with the migrants of Kessab and the corresponding bodies.

The Supreme Patriarch expresses his deep gratitude for the Armenians’ unity and support to our compatriots in Kessab. The Supreme Patriarch anticipates more financial support from the Armenians to all the Armenians of Kessab and Syria for their needs and recovery efforts.
