Shortly after Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyib Erdogan’s unprecedented, pre-April 24^th message when it had already become one of the important pieces of news in foreign media and propaganda for Turkish circles, the Prime Minister proofread his so-called message of condolence.

On April 23^rd, Turkey celebrates Children’s Day. During a press conference following the official reception in Parliament, the Prime Minister clarified that he didn’t want to express condolences to only the Armenians.

“I also expressed my condolence to the Ottomans’ grandchildren. Armenians weren’t the only ones who were killed that year. There were also Turks, Bosnians, Albanians and Lazers. I wish the souls of all the deceased rest in peace. What is more natural than commemorating them? Unfortunately, many use this as an instrument, but it’s wrong, and we have gone against that and have always underlined that. The opposite side’s steps are more important than ours…” this is how Erdogan clarified his message later.

Let us add that the translation of Erdogan’s announcement in several languages, including in poor Eastern Armenian and Western Armenian languages was disseminated earlier, and it’s clear that it was probably done through the Google Translate program.
