On the Day of Tiding of the Virgin Mary, Divine and eternal Liturgies were served at all active churches in Javakhk at the initiative and with the blessing of Vicar of the General Prelacy of Javakhk, Archimandrite Babgen Salbiyan. The festive liturgy at the Holy Cross Church of Akhalkalak was served by Priest Tatev Marukyan.

On the occasion, the Vicariate of the General Prelacy of Javakhk surprised the women working at the maternal ward of Akhalkalak Hospital and the mothers giving birth on that day as Priest Tatev Marukyan personally congratulated the nurses and mothers, giving them roses and the Children’s Bibles.

His Holiness praised the efforts of the maternal ward’s nurses and mentioned: “This is where life starts from. You are the devoted individuals who carry out your activities with dignity.”

This little surprise of the Armenian Apostolic Church filled the hearts of the gathered with happiness.

In the end, the students of the Sunday School praised Armenian mothers during an event held at the hall of the Prelacy of Javakhk. The school’s principal Zaruhi Barbaryan and her 80 students had organized a special event for the students’ mothers.

Every year on April 7^th, the Armenian Holy Apostolic Church celebrates the Day of Tiding of the Virgin Mary. Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II has declared that day the day of blessing mothers and women waiting to feel the joy of motherhood.
