Issues related to research on the Diaspora discussed at the RA Ministry of Diaspora

On March 20, RA Deputy Minister of Diaspora Serzh Srapionyan held a meeting-discussion with researchers fulfilling orders to conduct thematic studies on science and education through conditional grants to be provided by the RA Ministry of Diaspora this year. Among the participants were Director of the Institute of History at the NAS RA Ashot Melkonyan, Director of the Institute of Literature Avik Isahakyan, Director of the Institute of Anthropology and Ethnography Pavel Avetisyan, Head of the Department of Diaspora Studies of the same Institute Ruben Karapetyan, Director of the Institute of Informatics and Automation Problems Vladimir Sahakyan, Director of “Noravank” Scientific-Educational Foundation Gagik Harutyunyan, Director of “Diaspora” Scientific-Educational Center at the Armenian State Pedagogical University Suren Danielyan, as well as other academics and researchers.

The participants of the meeting discussed issues on the implementation of studies on the Diaspora at different institutes and attached importance to the thematic studies to be conducted ahead of the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide.

To raise the level of effectiveness of ordered studies and assess the activities of the relevant organizations fulfilling the orders, the research institutes will submit reports on the completed activities once every three months. Roundtable discussions will be held in case of need. The studies will be presented for critiques, after which they will be recommended for printing.
