Event dedicated to the 26th anniversary of Sumgait pogroms held in Warsaw

On Feb. 28, members of the Armenian community of Poland participated in Requiem Mass in memory of the victims of the Sumgait pogroms and Armenian officer Gurgen Margaryan near the cross-stone placed in the Armenian Park in Sadiba district of Warsaw. The Requiem Mass was served by Father Tatchat Tsaturyan.

Father Tatchat Tsaturyan addressed the gathered, condemned the crimes committed against mankind and attached importance to the need for Armenians’ advancement and more achievements.

Among speakers was RA Temporary Charge d’Affairs in Poland Tigran Vardanyan, who particularly underlined the importance of providing the Polish society with the right information about the Sumgait pogroms, the murder of Gurgen Margaryan and other tragic events in Armenian history.

After the speech, the gathered lit candles and laid wreaths in front of the cross-stone.
