President of France to participate in event dedicated to the memory of Missak Manouchian’s Group

President of France Francois Hollande has expressed the desire to participate in the event dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the execution of Missak Manouchian’s Group to be held on February 21st. This is what President of the Armenian Genocide Centennial France Committee Alexi Gevciyan announced during a program on the French-Armenian Radio AYB.

The annual event is organized by France’s Armenian and Jewish communities to pay tribute to Missak Manouchian and the 22 members of his group who led a struggle against the Nazi forces in occupied France and died in the struggle. This year, the event will be held at the highest level and through a state protocol for the first time ever.

The February 21 ceremony dedicated to the memory of Manouchian’s Group and to be held with the participation of France’s President will mark the launch of the series of events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide in France.
