40 children from Armenia spending their winter vacation in the Netherlands

On January 19, 20 children from Armenia (15 children of socially disadvantaged families in Gyumri and 5 children from the orphanage in Vanadzor) were hosted at Calouste Gulbenkian Hall of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Almelo, reports “Hayern Aysor”’s correspondent in the Netherlands.

The children are spending their winter vacation (7 January-2 February) in the Netherlands thanks to funding and support from Pax kinderhulp.

The meeting with the children was organized by the board of the St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Church, Homenetmen and the AGBU.

The event began with a Sunday Divine Liturgy and was followed by a concert featuring performances by famous singers and musicians.

The children had the chance to get acquainted with each other and communicate with their Dutch-Armenian peers.

The meeting ended with a banquet, during which the children received many gifts.

Currently, there are 40 Armenian children from Armenia in the Netherlands, of which 20 are from the villages adjacent to Vardenis.
