Armenian PM recommends donating books of contemporary Armenian writers during events

The Government of the Republic of Armenia held today a subsequent session chaired by Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan.

Before the session, the Prime Minister informed that the Government of the Republic of Armenia has received books as gifts from Antares Publishing House. “The aim of this initiative is to boost reading in Armenia, particularly for government officials. Of course, I would like to say that if there are other publishing houses that would like to engage in this process, the government will gladly accept books as gifts from them as well and will state the names of those publishing houses so that we can support publishing and readership. It would also be nice for the government to have a policy to support these efforts. I would like to assure you that, in spite of the widespread opinion, there are valuable books being published in Armenia, and I think we will all get something out of reading those books. I hope we are truly able to organize our work in such a way that we find enough time for publishing fiction books and reading,” Nikol Pashinyan noted.

The head of government recommended donating the books of contemporary Armenian writers during events, and First Deputy Prime Minister Ararat Mirzoyan called on all government officials to not only donate, but also read books.
