Exhibition of photos portraying Armenian national costumes held in Bulgaria

From June 28 29, at the initiative of the AGBU, the Bulgarian cities of Sofia and Plovdiv hosted an exhibition of Julia Mutlu’s photos of Armenian national costumes characterizing various provinces of Historic Armenia and of the photos taken by Aytac Selcuk (originally from Van) in the city of Van.

The organizers of the exhibition in Plovdiv were Honorary Consul of the Republic of Armenia in Plovdiv Yeghiazar Uzunyan and the Gevorgyan family.

The exhibition Plovdiv were held at one of the well-known trade centers in Plovdiv.

“It was a very touching and interesting exhibition. Aytac Selcuk’s photos were photos of Armenian national costumes taken near the Armenian churches in the city of Van and the nearby areas. The designer of the costumes is Julia Mutlu, who has been awarded the Medals of the President of the Republic of Armenia and the Ministry of Diaspora for these works,” Cultural Affairs Advisor to the Honorary Consul of Armenia in Plovdiv Aghavni Gevorgyan told Hayern Aysor and added that the guests in Plovdiv stayed for three days.

“They toured old districts of the city, visited an Armenian quarter and old Armenian homes, as well as the Bachkovo Church, which was built by the Brothers Bakuryan,” Aghavni Gevorgyan noted.
