Davit Aivazyan: “We need to take action to cooperate with Armenian media outlets of the Diaspora effectively”

Published in Greece, Armenia Weekly is the official newspaper of Armenia Non-Governmental/Cultural Center in Athens. The readers of the only Eastern-Armenian language weekly publishing in Europe are mainly Armenians who moved from Armenia and settled in Greece.

As an independent newspaper, it publishes articles about Armenia’s interior politics, culture and public life, and through that, it serves as one of the links between Armenia and the Diaspora. Armenia Center also strengthens bonds with the homeland by hosting various cultural events and inviting choirs, dance groups, scholars and other field specialists from Armenia.

As a matter of fact, Armenia Weekly also has an office in Yerevan, and the editor-in-chief is Davit Aivazyan.

Talking about the 9th Pan-Armenian Forum of Journalists that the Ministry of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia held from May 30 to June 1 under the title “Armenian Statehood and Armenian Journalism”, Davit Aivazyan told Hayern Aysor that he was participating in the forum for the first time after having followed the previous forums due to his job.

“I have noticed that the proposals made during the previous forums have not been implemented substantially. From now on, we need to take action to cooperate with Armenian media outlets of the Diaspora effectively,” Davit Aivazyan emphasized.
