On May 30, the Marie Manoogian Educational Institution of the Armenian General Benevolent Union Buenos Aires Chapter held a festive event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the May Heroic Battles and the declaration of the First Republic of Armenia.

The school hall was decorated with the colors of the Armenian national flag, and the children of the pre-school, kindergarten and school performed Armenian patriotic songs and dances and recited poems devoted to patriotism with excitement. Among the attendees were Primate of the Armenian Diocese of Argentina, His Grace, Archbishop Kissag Mouradian, leaders and members of AGBU Buenos Aires, community members and other guests.

“We all felt proud and were very emotional. We had a great day that the students and all the attendees will remember for a long time. We don’t spare efforts to make sure the students feel spiritually close to their homeland and never become detached from their roots,” Honorary Member of the AGBU, Vice-Chairman of AGBU Buenos Aires Antonio Sarafian said in an interview with Hayern Aysor, adding that the school will continue to stay true to the AGBU’s mission, that is, to promote preservation of Armenian heritage and traditions in the Diaspora through educational, cultural and humanitarian programs and projects.
