Armenian children show knowledge of Armenian alphabet during event at Armenian cultural center in Tyumen
May 25th was a day of a big celebration at the Mesrop Mashtots Armenian Cultural Center in Tyumen (operating adjunct to the “Armenia” Armenian cultural-enlightening non-governmental organization of Tyumen Oblast, President: A. Hoveyan).
The children of the cultural center’s school (homeroom teacher: Alvan Poghosyan) participated in a beautiful event entitled “The Wonders of our Childhood at School” and devoted to their completion of studies of the Armenian alphabet.
As reported the cultural center to Hayern Aysor, the children showed their knowledge and abilities by interpreting and comparing every wonder (Alphabet, mother language, mother, book, homeland, childhood, school).
They clearly recited the letters of the Armenian alphabet and recited poems devoted to the Armenian language, the homeland, mothers and performed songs in Armenian. In the last section called “school”, the poem devoted to the first teacher made the people in the audience shed tears, and for a moment, it seemed as though everyone went back to their childhood. The students expressed their deep gratitude to the teachers and took an oath to pay heed to their message.
In the second part of the event, the little ones of the preparatory group congratulated the elder students with their beautiful and exceptional performances of songs and dances and short plays…
Teacher A. Poghosyan hadn’t spared any effort to instill in the children love and respect for the mother language and the cultural values of the Armenian nation. Members of the cultural center’s dance group (artistic director: A. Khachatryan), the dhol players group (artistic director: A. Azryan) and the duduk class (artistic director N. Musoyan) made the event more beautiful.
At the end, the school’s Principal R. Danielyan expressed gratitude and motivated all the participants. The Principal’s speech was followed by the most solemn moment. The Principal granted certificates to the children for having learned the Armenian alphabet, while the others received small commemorative gifts in the shape of the letters of the Armenian alphabet that made the Armenian children more than happy.
Member of the parents’ committee Susanna Melkonyan extended thanks on behalf of the parents. “Today our children charmed us all. Their fluency in Armenian and smooth performances went to show that the teacher’s efforts were not in vain.
We congratulate our children and wish them great success in their studies. We would sincerely like to thank the organizers of this beautiful event. As for the teachers, we wish them unbreakable will and unwavering spirit. On behalf of the parents, I would like to express deep gratitude to Samvel and Sergo Stepanyan, who made their contributions to the establishment of this suitable Armenian school where our children recited the letters created by Mesrop Mashtots, learned how to read and write in their native language and sang songs only in Armenian.”
