Women members of “Astghik” branch of French-Armenian Blue Cross paid tribute to Armenian Genocide martyrs

On the occasion of the 103rd anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, the women members of “Astghik” branch of the French-Armenian Blue Cross paid their tribute to the victims of the Armenian Genocide in four communes of Paris, including Arnouville, Villiers-le-Bel, Gonesse and Sarcelles and planted trees in memory of the Armenian women victims of the Armenian Genocide in the mentioned cities.

As reported the “Astghik” branch of the French-Armenian Blue Cross to Hayern Aysor, in Villiers-le-Bel, secretary of the “Astghik” branch of the French-Armenian Blue Cross Sona Sureken gave her opening remarks, and in Sarsel — vice-chairwoman of the “Astghik” branch of the French-Armenian Blue Cross Noune Avetisian. The mayors, representatives of the municipalities, Members of Parliament and the unions laid flowers in front of the cross-stones in every city.

Father Manuel Racheau-Hovhannisian served a Holy Mass commemorating the canonized martyrs of the Armenian Genocide at the St. Varag Armenian Apostolic Church in Arnouville. Among the attendees were 20 members of the “Astghik” branch of the French-Armenian Blue Cross, bureau members, Treasurer Silva Semerdjian, Vice-Chairwoman Nune Avetisian, secretaries Anita Boghosian and Sona Sureken, as well as Mayor of Arnouville Pascal Dol, several representatives of the municipality, MP Francois Piponi and members of several unions and associations operating in the commune.

The students of the Armenian language class of the school of the French-Armenian Blue Cross, under their teacher’s leadership, walked from the church to the cross-stone and paid their respects to the memory of the canonized martyrs of the Armenian Genocide.
