On February 1, Minister of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia Hranush Hakobyan chaired a consultation at the RA Ministry of Diaspora. Among the participants were Deputy Ministers Serzh Srapionyan and Vahagn Melikyan, Chief of Staff Firdus Zakaryan and the heads of structural subdivisions.

During the consultation, the heads of the structural subdivisions delivered reports on the completed activities and discussed the upcoming programs and events.

Hranush Hakobyan attached importance to the holding and proper coverage of the events dedicated to Mother Language Day, the 100^th anniversary of the First Republic of Armenia, the 100^th anniversary of the heroic Battles of May and the 140^th birth anniversary of world famous Western Armenian writer Zabel Yesayan (Zabel Yesayan’s name is included in the list of events that are part of the 2018 Our Greats Program of the Ministry of Diaspora), as well as revitalization of the activities that are carried out with Diaspora Armenian students at Armenia’s universities. The Minister also summed up the results of the working consultations that she had held with representatives of the Ministry’s structural subdivisions throughout the month of January.

The Minister gave assignments, set up a timetable and designated correspondents and coordinators.
