On October 20, the Office of the Presidential Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Overseas Cypriots hosted the bilateral meeting of Minister of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia and Presidential Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Overseas Cypriots Fotis Fotiou. State Representative of the Armenian community in the House of Representatives of Cyprus Vartkes Mahdessian also attended the meeting.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the issues related to the cooperation deriving from the Memorandum of Mutual Understanding signed by the Ministry of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia and the Office of the Presidential Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Overseas Cypriots on 19 June and the future actions.

The sides highlighted the importance of the Memorandum of Mutual Understanding signed by the Armenian National Committee of America Eastern Region, the Hellenic American Leadership Council, the Federation of Cypriot American Organizations and the PSEKA – International Coordinating Committee – “Justice for Cyprus” on 9 April 2016, stating that the memorandum created good grounds in terms of development of cooperation among the Armenian communities in other countries around the world.
