Syria interested in seeing Armenian products in domestic market

On October 18, RA Ambassador to Syria Arshak Poladyan had a meeting with Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade of the Syrian Arab Republic Ahmed Samir Khalil, reported the press service of the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs to Hayern Aysor.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the perspectives of revitalization of the economic relations between the two countries. Minister Khalil stated that Syria is very interested in seeing Armenian products in its market and emphasized that all the preconditions for Armenian-Syrian trade relations exist.
In his turn, the Ambassador stated that the historic and traditional relations between the two countries and that the 25-year diplomatic relations and the traditions of the partnership in trade and economy will convey great potential in order to reestablish the once active cooperation.
Minister Khalil and Ambassador Poladyan addressed the opportunities for Armenia’s participation in the efforts for Syria’s economic recovery in the spheres of agriculture, industry, healthcare, education and technology.
During the meeting, the sides highlighted the importance of high-level reciprocal visits and reached an agreement on carrying out relevant activities in that direction.
