On September 26, RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan received Chairman of the Parochial Council of the French city of Nice Arto Oksaian and representatives of the Armenian community of Nice Marie and Hagop Altipalakian.

Greeting the guests, the Minister asked about community-related news and the community’s upcoming programs and attached importance to Arto Oksaian’s pro-national activities aimed at consolidating and empowering the members of the community and maintaining strong ties with Armenia.

Arto Oksaian expressed gratitude for the cordial reception and shared his impressions of the 6^th Armenia-Diaspora Pan-Armenian Conference. “It was a very important and effective conference that gave us strength and conveyed spirit. It is the great duty of all Armenians to support Armenia. It is a great honor for Diaspora Armenians to help the homeland,” the community figure added.

Marie and Hagop Altipalakian also touched upon the changes taking place in Armenia. Mrs. Altipalakian particularly stressed the following: “Every year, we come to Armenia and see a more beautiful homeland. There is great progress being made. I am charmed by the architecture and the clean streets in Yerevan. The people are kind and cordial.”

Issues related to preservation of the Armenian identity and language and the strengthening and development of Armenia-Diaspora relations were considered during the meeting.
