Concert dedicated to 10th anniversary of TV series “Of Armenian Descent” held as part of 6th Armenia-Diaspora Pan-Armenian Conference
On September 19, a concert dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the TV series “Of Armenian Descent” was held at Karen Demirtchyan Sport and Concert Complex in Yerevan. The concert was held as part of the 6th Armenia-Diaspora Pan-Armenian Conference.
Among the attendees were RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan, RA Minister of Culture Armen Amiryan, as well as intellectuals and guests.
The concert featured musical performances by beloved French-Armenian singer Rosy Armen, opera singers Lusine Levoni, Ellada Chakhoyan, Urfa, singers Gor Sujyan, Sevak Khanaghyan, Artsvik, dudukist Vazgen Asatryan, cellist Astghik Siranosyan and the State Youth Orchestra of Armenia conducted by Sergey Smbatyan.
RA Minister of Culture Armen Amiryan highly appreciated the mission of the TV series “Of Armenian Descent” for preservation of the Armenian identity and awarded the crew with the Gold Medal of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Armenia.
Italian actress Ornela Muti expressed her greetings to the participants of the concert.
Legendary French-Armenian singer, composer Michel Legrand also performed at the concert and stated the following: “I always have great emotions when I visit Armenia. I am happy to be with you this evening. I am connected to Armenia, just like my grandfather, Sarkis Mikaelian. I was 10 when he passed away, but until then, we would create music together.”
At the end, creator of the TV series “Of Armenian Descent” Manana Hakobyan expressed gratitude to RA Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan, under whose high patronage the concert was held. She also expressed gratitude to the Ministries of Diaspora and Culture, the event’s sponsors and the crew of the TV series.
