Book on Islamized Armenians (The Remains of the Sword) published in Turkey
Journalist-sociologist Laurence Ritter and photographer Max Sivaslian have released their book The Remains of the Sword in Turkey.
According to the Turkish Internethaber, Laurence Ritter and photographer Max Sivaslian toured eastern and southeastern Turkey to conduct a study on the grandchildren of the survivors of the 1915 massacres and talked to several people.
“As Hrant Dink said, ?in this country it’s harder to talk about the living than it is to talk about the deceased’. Until recently, talking about Islamized or converted Armenians was a taboo for the Turks, Kurds and Armenians,” as stated in the preface of the book.
