Presentation of Hagop Gasarjian’s book “Dedicated Efforts Through the ADLP: Record of Fifty-Year Activities” was held

On July 5, at the initiative of Lebanon’s Zartonk Armenian Daily and with the support of the Ministry of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia, Tekeyan Center of Yerevan hosted the presentation of the book “Dedicated Efforts Through the ADLP: Record of Fifty-Year Activities” by former chairman of the Central Committee of the Armenian Democratic Liberal Party (Ramgavar), former Member of Parliament of Lebanon, chairman of the body of founders of Tekeyan Cultural Association, architect Hagop Gasarjian. Among the participants of the presentation was RA Deputy Minister of Diaspora Serzh Srapionyan. The presentation was part of the events that are being held in light of the 80th anniversary of Zartonk Armenian Daily.

The materials of the book were compiled, integrated and edited by Deputy Director of AGBU Representation in Armenia Hovik Yordekyan. The book includes Gasarjian’s notes from various years, personal archive and his articles published in the presses.

Longstanding correspondent for Zartonk Armenian Daily Jenny Krikorian-Barseghian delivered her opening remarks.

Serzh Srapionyan transmitted the welcoming and congratulatory remarks of RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan, attached importance to the Diaspora Armenian figure’s pro-national efforts and stated that this book could become a rich source of information for those interested in the history of the Diaspora.

Member of the Central Committee of the ADLP Hagop Andreasian read the welcoming remarks on behalf of the Central Committee of the ADLP.

The book was presented by political figure Vicken Khachadourian. He stated that the book is a unique memoir that presents the activities that Hagop Gasarjian has been carrying out as a national and political figure and a member of the ADLP for fifty years and said the book will have its special place in the history of the ADLP. “In his book, Gasarjian has presented major milestones of his activities that are related to his family, the AYA, the AGBU, the ADLP, the internal issues and challenges of the political party, the TCA, the Homeland, Artsakh and political life in Lebanon,” he added.

In his speech, the book’s editor Hovik Yordekyan provided details about the work that had been done and how the book became a success.

At the end, the book’s author gave a speech in which he expressed gratitude to the RA Ministry of Diaspora and to RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan personally, as well as to Editor-in-Chief of Zartonk Armenian Daily Sevag Hagopian for organizing the presentation and popularizing the book.
