At the initiative of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, Aeroflot Airlines has named one of its planes in honor of famous Armenian composer Arno Babajanyan.

On June 29, the Boeing 777 arrived at the airline company’s fleet under the name “A. BABAJANYAN”.

The decision comes after the Arno Babajanyan International Memorial Fund addressed a letter to Minister of Transport Maxim Sokolov.

In an interview with rusarminfo’s journalist, the Fund’s founder, son of the composer Ara Babajanyan stated that the Ministry took the decision within a month following receipt of the letter. Ara Babajanyan added that the plane is a long-distance plane and that the airline company will organize intercontinental flights.
