On June 28, RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan received active member of the Armenian Relief Society (ARS), benefactor Vickie Marashlian.

Greeting the guest, the Minister highly appreciated the Diaspora Armenian figure’s efforts aimed at revitalizing community life in Los Angeles and the pro-national charity programs that Mr. and Mrs. Harout and Vickie Marashlian carry out.

The Minister touched upon the charity banquet that the Marashlians had organized and helped raise $35,000 to complete construction of the Sosseh Kindergarten in Stepanakert. Construction of the kindergarten, which is unique in terms of architectural composition and engineering solutions, was launched during the years when Vickie Marashlian was Chairwoman of the ARS.

Mrs. Marashlian invited the Minister of Diaspora to the opening of the kindergarten to be held on September 6, 2017.

Issues related to preservation of the Armenian identity in the Diaspora, educational issues and participation in the 6^th Armenia-Diaspora Pan-Armenian Conference were discussed during the meeting.
