Rafael Megall (Melikian), Merited Artist of the Republic of Armenia

It is probably impossible to completely describe Rafael Megall the artist with these words that seem skimpy at first sight. I met and talked to Megall for the second time during his visit to the Ministry of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia where he shared wonderful news with Hayern Aysor. Rafael told us that he was preparing to showcase nearly 15 paintings under the title “The Panthers in My Blossoming Garden” at the 57th Venice Biennale to be held on 13 May at the Murad Rafaelian Seminary in Venice, Italy.

There are three artists participating in the Biennale-one from the Armenian Diaspora, the other from abroad and Rafael Megall. The exhibition’s curator is famous art critic Demetrio Paparoni. The sponsor is the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Armenia, and the supporters are the Ministry of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia and the National Gallery of Armenia.

Megall also added that the paintings from “The Panthers in My Blossoming Garden” series were created specifically for this exhibition and will stay in Venice for nearly 4-5 months, after which they will be exhibited in Armenia.

And so, let’s wish our young artist unprecedented success and more achievements. Let’s wish that Megall returns from Venice with the award that is the most precious for any artist.
