Meeting of Armenian and Kazakh Prime Ministers held in Saint Petersburg
RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan began the working visit to the Russian Federation. Prior to the sitting of the council of heads of governments of the CIS countries, Armenia’s Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan met today with Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Serik Akhmetov in Saint Petersburg.
During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed the perspectives for development of Armenian-Kazakh relations and particularly touched upon a broad range of issues related to partnership for Armenia’s accession to the Customs Union. In the context of expansion of bilateral economic relations, the sides underlined the need for organizing direct flights from Yerevan to Astana. Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister mentioned that that will provide the opportunity of strengthening business relations between the two countries. In his turn, the RA Prime Minister informed that the Armenian government has confirmed the plan for ensuring provision of competitive and ongoing air transportation and has liberalized Armenia’s air borders. Tigran Sargsyan emphasized the fact that Armenia’s adoption of an “open sky policy” will foster Armenia’s economic development.
The sides attached importance to further activities of the Armenian-Kazakh inter-governmental commission and touched upon the opportunities of cooperation in seed growing. In this regard, Prime Minister Sargsyan attached importance to the study and application of Kazakhstan’s experience in the field.
Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister invited his Armenian counterpart to Kazakhstan.
The delegation led by the RA Prime Minister includes Chief of Staff of the RA Government-Minister Vache Gabrielyan, RA Minister of Economy Vahram Avanesyan, RA Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Shavarsh Kocharyan, RA First Deputy Minister of Economy Karine Minasyan, RA Deputy Minister of Economy Ara Petrosyan, RA Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Iosif Isayan, RA Deputy Minister of Finance Suren Karayan and other officials.
