Varuzhan Muradyan: “Armenia has all the opportunities to produce wines of international quality”
In the 1990s, Varuzhan Muradyan and his family moved to the United States where he worked as an accountant. He quit his job and repatriated to Armenia where he started working as a gardener, went on to produce wines and opened his very own VanArdi Wines factory.
“Diaspora Armenians moving to Armenia need to work and produce. For nearly 20 years, I have examined the U.S. tax legislation and have come to realize that taxation is in a better state in Armenia than in the United States.
Through our efforts, we are trying to restore the traditions of Armenian winemaking, but in order for Armenia to become a leader in wine exports, we need to work hard. We have all the conditions that are necessary for that, including fruitful land, water, the sun, grapes, the will and diligent people,” founding director of VanArdi Wines Varuzhan Muradyan said during the roundtable discussion entitled “Participation of Diaspora Armenians in Making Investments in Armenia” and organized by the RA Ministry of Diaspora, adding that Europe is currently very interested in Armenian wines since Armenia has all the opportunities to produce wines of international quality, as reported Hayern Aysor.
“I was inspired by the ravishing nature in Armenia. I can only say one thing to Armenians living abroad-come with optimism and let’s move forward hand-in-hand and create goods on Armenian land since those goods will be on strong foundations,” Varuzhan Muradyan concluded.
