The hall named after famous engineer and inventor Hovhannes Adamyan, who was the first in the world to achieve practical results in color television and to carry out color television transfers, was renovated and equipped by OJSC “Rostelecom”.
In 1925 Adamyan demonstrated in a special laboratory, opened at YSU, “Eristavi” – a device for broadcasting color images. A similar device was introduced in Europe only three years later. That time Hovhannes Adamyan delivered lectures at YSU. He has created one of the golden pages in the history of the university.
The opening ceremony was attended by YSU Rector Aram Simonyan, vice-rectors Ruben Markosyan and Ararat Malkhasyan, heads of various departments, as well as the CEO of OJSC “Rostelecom” Hayk Faramazyan and others.
“The cooperation between universities and business world is known worldwide. The result of our cooperation will not be just limited to this beautiful hall, but also ties will be established between the company and YSU Faculty of Radiophysics, thanks to which students will have the opportunity to attend lectures by specialists, participate in discussions and meetings. This partnership will allow professionals to meet the demands of the labor market,” – said YSU Rector Aram Simonyan.
The CEO of OJSC “Rostelecom” Hayk Faramazyan said it is a great honor for the company to develop cooperation with YSU: “Apart from the pilot study, we also plan to conduct studies to introduce new technologies and business world needs for students in this hall.”
