Mike Koroukian: “Patriotism also means living for the Homeland”

On January 30, RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan received Lebanese-Armenian businessman Mike Koroukian, who moved to the United Arab Emirates over twenty years ago. In 2017, he became a member of the National Assembly of Deputies of the United Arab Emirates for the first time ever. He carries out pro-Armenian activities within the community and is a shareholder of Sharjah’s INTERPLAST.
The Minister attached importance to his pro-national activities within the community and in the Homeland and particularly touched upon the well-known businessman’s business that has grown in Armenia.
The sides discussed issues related to preservation of the Armenian identity abroad and the need for providing young Armenians with an Armenian education and touched upon the revitalization of partnership with the Ministry of Diaspora.
Mike Koroukian expressed gratitude for the cordial reception and stated that the Ministry of Diaspora works quite actively to consolidate Armenians of the Diaspora and keep the spirit of patriotism at a high level. “The initiatives are very important. They make the people active, awaken the spirit and push them to carry out pro-national acts. Patriotism also means living for the Homeland,” he added.
