Russian-Armenians distributed New Year’s gifts to schoolchildren of Armenia’s bordering Chinari village
Deputy head of the regional division of the Union of Armenians of Russia in the city of Khosta, businessman Valery Muradyan and member of the Armenian community of Khosta Marcos Kesyan visited Armenia once again on the occasion of New Year and Armenian Christmas.
According to tradition, the Armenians of Khosta visit the schoolchildren of the secondary school in the bordering village of Chinari of Tavush Province to give New Year’s gifts and to tell them that they are with them.
On December 29, they visited Chinari village to give gifts to 100 schoolchildren. Besides New Year’s gifts, they gave mobile phones to 11 first graders and granted 13 passes to the 11th grade students, their homeroom teacher and head of Chinari village Samvel Saghoyan to spend their summer vacation in Khosta.
Pastor of the city of Berd and Berd region of Tavush Province, Fr. Priest Aram Mirzoyan gave his blessing at the festive event attended by the head of Chinari village, as well as teachers, villagers and other guests.
“We were cordially received by the residents of Chinari. The New Year’s event was held in the square of the village and gathered about 300 people. We celebrated the New Year with songs and dances, and everyone was in a great mood. Valery Muradyan was Santa Claus this year as well,” Marcos Kesyan said in an interview with Hayern Aysor and assured that such initiatives would definitely be ongoing.
Marcos Kesyan also informed that the community decides what accessories are necessary after discussion with head of the Armenian community of Sochi Hmayak Ustyan and head of the Chinari village Samvel Saghoyan, after which they preparing the gifts.
Touching upon this initiative, Valery Muradyan said the Armenians of Khosta think about what they can do to help Armenia and always try to show support. As a New Year’s wish, he wished peace in Armenia and a good life for the people.
