RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan meets with leaders and representatives of the Armenian community of Moscow
From 15 to 17 November, RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan has been participating in meetings with Armenian communities in the Russian cities of Moscow, Kaluga and Tula as part of the Working with Communities Program.
The meetings are organized with support from the Armenian Diocese of Russia and Nor Nakhichevan, the Union of Armenians of Russia, the World Armenian Congress and the Russian-Armenian Cooperation NGOs.
On 15 November, the RA Minister of Diaspora visited the Armenian Embassy in the Russian Federation where she had a meeting with Ambassador Oleg Yesayan and the embassy’s staff. During the meeting, the minister discussed tendencies for the development of the Armenia-Diaspora partnership and the perspectives for future cooperation.
On the same day, RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan had a meeting with leaders and more than 500 members of the Armenian community of Moscow at the ceremonies hall of the newly opened Church of Glorification of the Armenian monastic complex in Moscow.
Greeting the gathered, the minister highly appreciated the efforts of the Armenian community of Moscow for preservation of the Armenian identity and presented the results of the activities carried out by the RA Ministry of Diaspora over the past five years, as well as the programs and future actions. The minister also answered questions concerning the gathered. The members of the community presented the current key issues, and the sides discussed issues of mutual interest.
President of the Union of Armenians of Russia and the World Armenian Congress Ara Abrahamyan and several reputable members of the Armenian community of Moscow also gave speeches.
The group of artists from Armenia, who are visiting within the framework of the events dedicated to the Armenian Genocide Centennial and are led by RA Distinguished Artist Sargis Najaryan, presented the play “Komitas: Eternal Traveler”, which was well received by the audience.
Hranush Hakobyan also had meetings in Kaluga (16 November) and Tula (17 November) within the framework of the same program.
