Political consultations between Armenia and Uruguay in Yerevan

On November 15, political consultations were held between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and the Eastern Republic of Uruguay. The Armenian side was headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ashot Hovakimyan, and the Uruguayan side was headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Luis Porto.
During the consultations, the sides expressed satisfaction with the existing warm, friendly relations between the two countries and the high level of political dialogue.
Importance was attached to the need for expansion of cooperation in trade, economy, culture, tourism, sports and other fields and the holding of business forums and Days of Culture. The sides discussed issues related to regional security and underlined the importance of partnership within international organizations and the integration of the juridical-contractual field. The sides also underlined the lifting of the demand for visas between Armenia and Uruguay, which will make a great contribution to the strengthening of bilateral relations.
During the consultations, the Armenian and Uruguayan Deputy Foreign Ministers exchanged the ratified documents on the entry into force of the agreement on promotion of investment and reciprocal defense between the Governments of the Republic of Armenia and the Eastern Republic of Uruguay, reports the RA MFA press service to “Hayern Aysor”.
