Students of AGBU Marie Manoogian-Demirdjian School visited “Ararat Home”

On Saturday, December 3, 2016, for the second time this year, Marie Manoogian Demirjian School’s The Helping People through the Arts club visited Ararat Home and presented the residents with Armenian music, dance, and poetry readings. The residents at the home welcomed them with open arms and greatly enjoyed their performance.

As the School’s Armenian language teacher Anna Yaralian told Hayern Aysor, the students that went were the club founders, Lilia and Alexandra Yaralian (11th grade) and Natalie Momjian (11th grade), along with Christine Hakobyan (10th grade), Arsine Kolanjian (10th grade), Nanor Bedrosian (10th grade), and Lilia Antonyan (5th grade).

Three generations of Armenians celebrated a day of cultural preservation. The home residents watched with tears in their eyes as they saw the Armenian youth unite and embrace their nationality and culture with the elders. Overall, the fun day was not only enjoyable to the club members, but for the loving elders as well. The club plans to and looks forward to returning to Ararat Home soon, as its members were very touched by the experience and felt fulfillment by bringing joy into the home.
