Anoush Armenian Dance Group to dedicate its activities in 2017 to the “What are YOU doing for Karabakh?” pan-Armenian movement
The Anoush Armenian Dance Group of the Armenian Compatriotic Union of Munich has joined the “What are YOU doing for Karabakh?” pan-Armenian movement. After participating in the November 26 Young Dancer competition in Munich where the dance group won second place, the members took a photo with a sign reading the statement of the movement and attracted many people’s attention. Even the director of the competition Matti Goldsmith expressed the desire to take a photo with them.
“When I found out that the RA Ministry of Diaspora had launched such a pan-Armenian movement, I got very excited and immediately decided that my dance group also had to participate in it. Each of us needs to make a contribution in any way,” the dance group’s founding dance instructor and artistic director Anoush Chakhalyan said in an interview with Hayern Aysor, adding that the dance group will be dedicating all of its activities in 2017 to the “What are YOU doing for Karabakh?” pan-Armenian movement.
The dance instructor stated that the initiative has raised a strong wave in the Armenian Diaspora, showing the unity of the Armenian people.
Anoush Armenian Dance Group was established in 2001 when it performed during the Vardanants Day. The dance group has nearly 70 members between the ages of 3 and 45.
Anoush Armenian Dance Group always participates in the concerts of Armenia’s pop singers in Munich, like singer Noune Yesayan’s “We Exist, We Will Exist and We Will Grow” concert tour, which was dedicated to the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide and was partly organized by the RA Ministry of Diaspora.
On October 17, Anoush Chakhalyan attended the 2015 Pan-Armenian Awards “For notable contribution to the preservation of the Armenian identity” held by the RA Ministry of Diaspora, the World Armenian Congress and the Union of Armenians of Russia. During the award ceremony, Anoush Armenian Dance Group won second prize in the Best Artistic Group category.
