On November 22, RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan received founder of the Khachatur Avetisyan State Folk Instruments Ensemble of Gyumri, Merited Cultural Figure of the Republic of Armenia, singer Murad Malkhasyan.

Hranush Hakobyan greeted the guest and mentioned the following: “Murad Malkhasyan, who is the founder of the State Folk Instruments Ensemble of Gyumri and a performer of Armenian folk and national songs, does everything he can to disseminate Armenian song, culture and arts in not only Armenia, but also abroad. The ensemble named after Khachatur Avetisyan has become the “passport” of Gyumri, and it is impossible to imagine cultural life in Gyumri without this beautiful ensemble. Performing in several cities of Europe, the United States and Russia, Muradyan dedicates his talent and uses his knowledge to inspire Armenians abroad, give them strength and disseminate the feeling of patriotism in the Diaspora. I would like to thank you for everything you do for our compatriots abroad. Continue to stay as dedicated as you are to Armenian arts, culture and the Armenian nation.”

The Minister emphasized the fact that Murad Malkhasyan always participates in the programs and projects of the RA Ministry of Diaspora, particularly the “Ari Tun” Program) with great willingness. He also expresses great willingness to assist in the solution to the cultural and educational issues according to regions.

Minister Hranush Hakobyan awarded Murad Malkhasyan with the Gold Medal of the RA Ministry of Diaspora for his notable contributions to the cultural partnership between Armenia and the Diaspora and on the occasion of the 30^th anniversary of the establishment of the Khachatur Avetisyan State Folk Instruments Ensemble of Gyumri.

Expressing gratitude for such a high award, Malkhasyan stated that each award obliges him to make maximal efforts for the Homeland and the Armenian nation.
